MY STORY

Committed to Helping People

In 2023 I made the decision to open Valley Counseling. I graduated from Washington state University with a Masters in Education and Counseling Psychology in 2012. I have worked as a counselor with the community college system in Washington state since 2012. Prior to working in the college counseling setting I had the intention to focus on becoming a Elementary School Psychologist, but along the way, I had the opportunity to work in some grant funded higher education programs that allowed me to work with adults pursuing higher education degrees. This population of students where first generation, low income and had disabilities. As well as many Latino students and students from other diverse backgrounds. I was also able to work with undocumented students. In my practice I see you as the expert, I just help guide you along the way, I utilize techniques in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy as well as Mindfulness exercises. Breathing techniques, guided meditation and other tools can be explored to see what may work for you. Most importantly I am interested in what is best for you and what gets the results. I primarily work with individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression. I am interested in developing ones resilience, self-compassion, and self-confidence.

Above all I am driven by the calling in my life to be a servant. I often turn to my own faith for answers in my own life and I would be happy to explore your questions regarding prayer and faith as well.

I look forward to meeting you and working toward your wellness.

"Anything that is human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary."
